Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows #1) by Kim Harrison

Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1)

Published: July 1st 2004

Publisher: HarperTorch

Length: 416 pages

My Rating: 4 stars

Blurb:

All the creatures of the night gather in “the Hollows” of Cincinnati, to hide, to prowl, to party… and to feed.

Vampires rule the darkness in a predator-eat-predator world rife with dangers beyond imagining – and it’s Rachel Morgan’s job to keep that world civilized.

A bounty hunter and witch with serious sex appeal and an attitude, she’ll bring ’em back alive, dead… or undead.

My Review:

This is the first in The Hollows series. If you have somehow missed this series, then you have really missed out. This is one of the first series that made me fall in love with urban fantasy. The series is complete, but the author is releasing a new book this year.

This has some of the best world-building, the characterization is exciting and fresh. It is an excellent opening book of the series. It has the perfect balance of action, mystery, and humour. I think Jenks is one of my all-time favourite characters.
