Gabriel (Stone Warriors #3) by D.B. Reynolds

Gabriel is book three in D.B. Reynolds Stone Warriors series, I have not read the previous entries in this series and this did prove to be a problem for me as not only did the book heavily feature other characters it also contained a crossover with a different series that I have also not read.

Gabriel Halldor is the third of four warrior brothers cursed to live out his existence in a stone statue casing for millennium while the world moves on around him. his statue currently stands in modern day Japan and he is finally awakened just in time to save Hana from assassins seeking her family’s annihilation.

The duo must battle their way to America where salvation may be found with limited resources and foes lurking close by.

While there were elements of this book I enjoyed I did find myself confused at certain scenes and wondering why they had been included.  there is a crossover with another series by the author that bogs down a book already heavy with different points of view.

I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review all thoughts and opinions are my own.
