This is the third instalment in Ms Medeiros’ Hathaway series, while part of a series it stands perfectly well on its own.
Captain Edward Hathaway has been entrusted with a letter from the man the man who saved his life on the battlefield. When Freddie dies, Edward is determined to deliver the letter to his saviour’s fiancé.
Grace Kent had intended to end her engagement to Freddie when he returned from the war. Feeling guilty, she refuses to see him Edward when he comes to deliver the letter. When Edward finally manages to meet her, she allows him to believe she is her widowed sister.
With the strong chemistry between them, they are unable to resist. When Edward discovers Grace’s deception he insists they marry much to Grace’s chagrin.
This was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a romance with a hint of steam.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
