Miss Grace Ashton has been keeping her family afloat since the death of her mother. Her father has turned to drink and gambling to ease his grief amassing a large debt to the infamous Raven Club.
Ian Swift, owner of the Raven Club, never expected to inherit the Earldom from his brother. His mother wants him to re-join society and take his place as the Earl of Castleton. when Grace walks into his gambling club he is intrigued and sees this as an opportunity to relearn the manners he cast aside when he abandoned his former life.
Unable to resist the chemistry between them they are caught in a compromising position and are forced to marry.
I found myself drawn to Grace, she is a smart resourceful woman unafraid to share her opinions and her feelings. Ian is also a complex character with hidden depths. The two were perfect for each other and the story flowed perfectly. Overall a gripping read.
